Annually, ANU Rocketry competes against university teams from across the globe. In our first year, we attended the Australian Universities Rocketry Competition (AURC) of 2019. In this competition we finished 2nd in flight performance and third overall. In 2020 we participated in a scaled back, online AURC, achieving first place in the simulations deliverable.
Using the opportunity in 2021 to up-skill, we attended the 2023 SpacePort America Cup, competing in the 10,000ft commercial off the shelf (COTS) division with Project Dyurra. From this we came 31st of 118 teams overall and received an Honourable Mention for our payload.
In 2024, ANU Rocketry intends to develop our team to compete in the SpacePort America Cup for our second year in the 30,000ft COTS category. In addition, ANU Rocketry is planning to finalise the legal framework for space flight, at least 12 months before our projected space shot attempt.
ANU Rocketry wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we are meeting on, the Ngunnawal people. We wish to acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region.
